The hidden messages on the things we usually say and do:
| When a guy is quiet, he’s listening to you. | When a girl is quiet, millions of things are running in her mind. |
| When a guy is not arguing, he realizes he’s wrong. | When a girl is not arguing, she is thinking deeply. |
| When a guy looks at you with eyes full of questions, he expects you to leave him soon. | When a girl looks at you with eyes full of questions, she is wondering how long you will be around. |
| When a guy says “I’m Fine” after a few seconds, he means it. | When a girl says “I’m Fine” after a few seconds, she is not fine at all. |
| When a guy stares at you, he thinks you’re the most beautiful thing in the world. | When a girl stares at you, she is wondering why you are lying. |
| When you’re laying your head on a guy’s chest, he has the world. | When a girl lays on your chest, she is wishing for you to be hers forever. |
| When a (good) guy says “I love you“, he means it. | When a girl says “I love you“, she means it. |
| When a guy says he can’t live wihout you, he’s with you till you’re done. | When a girl says she can’t live without you, she has made up her mind that you are her future. |
| When a guy says “I miss you“. He misses you more than you could have ever missed him or anything else. | When a girl says “I miss you“, no one in this world can miss you more than that. |

They always say action speaks louder than words but action, without words, is confusing. And they (often) forget to say that though action speaks louder than words, words can be very suggestive that is why it’s better to have said much than to have never said what you needed and wanted to say when you had a chance.
I pity the people who don’t get to say what they want or need– they will forever have that regret in their hearts. They thought that it’s always action that gets the job done but I think they have to think again– words are very important, they complete the action, they explain the action.
Whenever I am in a situation that requires me to speak out, more often than not I say what I feel. Although sometimes I am not good at confrontation (’cause when the going gets tough I choose to sulk myself in silence which I consider a weakness), I find ways to express myself and say what is/are needed to be said. One of which is writing a letter. Yes, letters can be dangerous, they can be interpreted in different ways; they can be broadcasted; they can be used against the one who made it. But, I tell you this, you might think it’s not brave to resort to writing a letter because at one point it avoids confrontation, for me, it is one of the most courageous and thoughtful acts one can do. Courageous because the words you put in there can be used as a “blackmail”. Thoughtful because you spend time thinking of words and writing them down on a paper. As for me, I only write to those I am afraid to lose. The letters that I write are parts of me; each time I make one, a lose a parcel of my being but it is the only kind of loss I celebrate. Writing someone a letter is an indication that the recipient is important to me or that I want to know more about him/her. That is why I really get delighted whenever I receive a letter or a note. It’s one of the best gifts for me. It’s simple yet it really comes from the heart. And I miss receiving one how I wish I could write to myself and pretend I didn’t know…
Anyway, the point I want to make here is that people should not be afraid of saying how and what they feel in any freaking way. There are people who are so contented to see actions happening before their eyes but at the back of their minds they question if the things they see are true only because they are not backed up with words. Cold treatment. Indifference. Broken relationships. These all just rooted from actions not being supported by words. I’m not saying that for every act you do must be explained, I am after the balance of the words and acts. Imagine watching a play where actors never deliver any line– yes, you might be amazed at first but you will surely yearn for words.
So, if you are one of those who always choose to let the action speak for them, maybe it’s time to change your way. There might be people around you who are also craving for your speech, wanting and needing your words to feel secured. Say those words you keep even if they mean pain, at least they are known and heard. Remember, one of the reasons for hailing humans is because they have language. And the best way to use a language is to speak up, to communicate through words.
(STOP PLAYING SAFE! JUST SAY IT! WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? THEY MISS HEARING FROM YOU.)

“Language has three important uses–it expresses thought, conceals thought, and takes the place of thought.”

-Please Hear What I Am Not Saying-
Don’t be fooled by me.
Don’t be fooled by the face I wear
For I wear a mask, a thousand masks,
Masks that I’m afraid to take off
And none of them is me.
Pretending is an art that’s second nature with me,
but don’t be fooled,
for God’s sake don’t be fooled.
I give you the impression that I’m secure,
that all is sunny and unruffled with me,
within as well as without,
that confidence is my name and coolness my game,
that the water’s calm and I’m in command
and that I need no one,
but don’t believe me.
My surface may be smooth but
my surface is my mask,
ever-varying and ever-concealing.
Beneath lies no complacence.
Beneath lies confusion, and fear, and aloneness.
But I hide this. I don’t want anybody to know it.
I panic at the thought of my weakness exposed.
That’s why I frantically create a mask to hide behind,
a nonchalant sophisticated facade,
to help me pretend,
to shield me from the glance that knows.
But such a glance is precisely my salvation,
my only hope, and I know it.
That is, if it is followed by acceptance,
If it is followed by love.
It’s the only thing that can liberate me from myself
from my own self-built prison walls
from the barriers that I so painstakingly erect.
It’s the only thing that will assure me
of what I can’t assure myself,
that I’m really worth something.
But I don’t tell you this. I don’t dare to. I’m afraid to.
I’m afraid you’ll think less of me,
that you’ll laugh, and your laugh would kill me.
I’m afraid that deep-down I’m nothing
and that you will see this and reject me.
So I play my game, my desperate, pretending game
With a façade of assurance without
And a trembling child within.
So begins the glittering but empty parade of Masks,
And my life becomes a front.
I tell you everything that’s really nothing,
and nothing of what’s everything,
of what’s crying within me.
So when I’m going through my routine
do not be fooled by what I’m saying.
Please listen carefully and try to hear what I’m not saying,
what I’d like to be able to say,
what for survival I need to say,
but what I can’t say.
I don’t like hiding.
I don’t like playing superficial phony games.
I want to stop playing them.
I want to be genuine and spontaneous and me
but you’ve got to help me.
You’ve got to hold out your hand
even when that’s the last thing I seem to want.
Only you can wipe away from my eyes
the blank stare of the breathing dead.
Only you can call me into aliveness.
Each time you’re kind, and gentle, and encouraging,
each time you try to understand because you really care,
my heart begins to grow wings –
very small wings,
but wings!
With your power to touch me into feeling
you can breathe life into me.
I want you to know that.
I want you to know how important you are to me,
how you can be a creator–an honest-to-God creator –
of the person that is me
if you choose to.
You alone can break down the wall behind which I tremble,
you alone can remove my mask,
you alone can release me from the shadow-world of panic,
from my lonely prison,
if you choose to.
Please choose to.
Do not pass me by.
It will not be easy for you.
A long conviction of worthlessness builds strong walls.
The nearer you approach me
the blinder I may strike back.
It’s irrational, but despite what the books may say about man
often I am irrational.
I fight against the very thing I cry out for.
But I am told that love is stronger than strong walls
and in this lies my hope.
Please try to beat down those walls
with firm hands but with gentle hands
for a child is very sensitive.
Who am I, you may wonder?
I am someone you know very well.
For I am every man you meet
and I am every woman you meet.

Fear. Insecurity. Doubt.
These are the things in life that pushes us to hide behind a mask.
We rarely let others see the truth because we’re afraid of rejection and judgment.
Some are brave enough to face life as it is while some still chooses to wear a mask and live in silence.
If people only know how to listen.
Please hear what I am not saying, which the human ear cannot hear, but a heart that may catch every words that I will say if it really cares to listen…

Maybe I’ll just start with – Why Kaleidoscope Words?
1
“A kaleidoscope is a circle of mirrors containing loose, colored objects such as beads or pebbles and bits of glass. As the viewer looks into one end, light entering the other end creates a colorful pattern, due to the reflection off the mirrors. Kaleidoscopes operate on the principle of multiple reflection, where several mirrors are attached together.”

2
A continually changing pattern of shapes and colors.
A continually shifting pattern, scene, or the like.

Complex patterns. Limitless possibilities.
Just like words.
A word could mean nothing -not until you shake it up.
A simple word may become complicated. A single word could mean differently, depending on how you say or spell it.
When you shake it and twist a bit more, you’ll encounter unfamiliar bits – and you might get lost…
And now I’m out of words.
